Ways to Give

There are many ways to make a gift to Trafalgar. The Advancement Office can provide you with information about each option and its benefits, and which would best meet your needs and objectives.

Gifts to the school can be made as a one-time gift or pledged over a number of years – depending on the size of the gift and its purpose.

Giving Levels

Explorer’s Circle ($15,000 and over)

Trafalgar 1887 Circle ($5,000 – $14,999)

Spem Successus Alit Circle ($2,000 – $4,999)

Blue and Silver Circle ($1,000 – $1,999)

Traf Family Circle ($500 – $999)

In addition, we encourage our donors to consider installment schedules that might allow them to make larger gifts over time. Gifts may be made monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or on a specific schedule identified by the donor.

Please select from the links below to learn more about each method of giving.

Cheque or Credit Card

Donations made using these methods will generate a Canadian tax receipt. If you would like to receive a U.S. tax receipt, please make a donation based on information found on this page of our website.

Cheque

You may mail your cheque (payable to the Trafalgar-Ross Foundation) to:

Matching Gifts

You may work for a company or organization that matches the donations of its employees, which would allow you to double the impact of your gift. Please speak to your Human Resources Department to confirm if your company matches donations and obtain the necessary forms.

Commemorative Gifts

Are you looking for a gift idea? Do you want to say thank you in a special way to a current or former teacher? If you wish to honour someone special, please consider sending a commemorative gift. We will send your honouree a card, you will receive a charitable tax receipt, and you will both have the pleasure of knowing that your gift is helping Trafalgar School and its students.

Memorial gifts celebrate the lives of our loved ones and friends who have passed away. This is a special way to recognize a special someone’s connection to Trafalgar.

Should you wish to donate a specific item that is on Trafalgar’s “Wish List”, please contact Sharon Cozens, Director of Advancement at (514) 935-2644, #237.

Gifts of Securities

Gifts of appreciated securities are exempt from the taxation of capital gains. Donors are not taxed on the capital gains accrued on securities such as public company shares, bonds, mutual fund units and employee stock options, when donated to a registered charity such as the Trafalgar Ross Foundation. Please contact Sharon Cozens, Director of Advancement, at (514) 935-2644, #237 to further discuss how this type of donation may be beneficial to you.

Donations of Securities

Share donations should be transacted “broker to broker”. Upon receipt of the shares, the shares are sold immediately and the Foundation will issue a receipt according to the closing price.
